How to spot a security breach

Most incidents are caught by someone noticing that something is not quite right. These are the signs to watch for.

Suspicious system behaviour

  • Unusually slow performance
  • System crashes or restarts
  • Unexpected pop-ups or redirects

Unauthorised access

  • Login alerts for unknown devices or locations
  • Unexpected changes to files or patient records
  • User permissions changed without your knowledge

Phishing or suspicious messages

  • Emails requesting passwords or sensitive data
  • Strange links or unknown attachments

Unfamiliar changes in Spark Clinic

  • Missing or altered patient records
  • New user accounts you did not create
  • Changes to billing or appointment data
